What carries you?
Special event Lisa Holzer
“What do you rely on for support?” – The title of the exhibition What carries you? is a question that Lisa Holzer borrowed in variant form from Heike Geißler’s book Saisonarbeit.
An evening program including a reading by Heike Geißler (in German), Trauben in weißer Schokolade; a performative gesture by Lisa Holzer; and a DJ set by Yasmina Haddad with music produced by women.
Heike Geißler (b. 1977) is a writer and lecturer and lives and works in Leipzig. Publications include Rosa (2002), Nichts, was tragisch wäre (2007), Saisonarbeit (2014, translated into English as Seasonal Associate), Fragen für alle (2016), and mani bucate money fest (2017). Geißler is a coeditor of the booklet series Lücken kann man lesen and a member of the performance collective George Bele. She was a fellow at Villa Massimo in 2016.
Lisa Holzer (b. Vienna, 1971) is an artist. She lives and works in Berlin and Vienna.
Yasmina Haddad’s artistic practice is based on photography and sometimes extends to different media such as sculpture, sound and set design. Her work has been presented among other things at Wiener Festwochen, Netmage Bologna, Medienturm Graz, Kunstraum NÖ Vienna, Kunsthalle Project Space Vienna, Mak Vienna, Beirut Art Center, mauve Vienna, DNS Berlin, Liu Haisu Museum Shanghai, Kunsthalle Exnergasse Vienna, House of Arts Brno, Gallery of the Academy of applied Arts at Heiligenkreuzer Hof Vienna and ISCP New York. Haddad is the co-director and part of the artists collective/ space SCHOOL (together with Andrea Lumplecker) in Vienna.
