Art Information: Every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and every Sunday from 12 noon – 2 p.m. Art calls for disputation, reflection, active participation. An art educator is available to all visitors in the exhibition rooms for questions and conversations (free of charge). AUDIOGUIDE With our audioguide we are offering you the possibility of an individual, guided tour through and around the building of the Secession. In addition to the information about the history and architecture of the building you will also find out interesting facts about the Association of visual Artist and the Secession as an exhibition venue of international, contemporary art. One highlight of the audio tour will be the well-known Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt. On the basis of excerpts, interviews with persons connected to the secession in original version and music we would like to present you the content as authentic as possible. In addition to the 50-minutes-main tour continuative levels are also offered. You may do the audio tour in german and English language. |

FAMILY TOURS Glimpse behind the scenes: There are always new exhibitions to be experienced at the Secession. What happens to the art works afterward? How do they get to the Secession? Klimt's Beethoven Frieze from 1902 has a long and colorful history, as we can learn from the back side. A special tour through the contemporary art exhibitions is offered once a month for families. ICH SEHE WAS, WAS DU NICHT SIEHST... Senior citizens and children experience modern and contemporary art together. The encounter with art is meant to be an inspiring setting and a path to new experiences. These events are aimed at senior citizens interested in the children’s perspective for their own art, and at schools and nursery schools who consider dialog across the generations as an important educational goal. ARCHITEKTUR SPRICHT The Secession offers workshops for apprentices focusing on the theme of Architecture speaks. As well as exploring the expressive possibilities of Jugendstil in the building itself, the current exhibition is examined in terms of the architecture of the Hauptraum. The apprentices are invited to develop projects of their own, making the architecture of the Secession speak of the art of the 21st century.
